Avoid winter blues in cultural San Diego, California
South California provides idea conditions for a winter vacation, to escape cold windy and perhaps snowy days. The city of San Diego is our top pick, with Los Angeles as a close second.
Winter brings the city temperatures to around 64°F (18°C), lovely!
Amazing outdoor activities in San Diego include: Balboa Park, Embarcadero and Old Town San Diego State Historical Park.

Multi-stop USA adventure in Texas
In the southern tip of Texas, there is a lesser known city called Brownsville. Within the city you can enjoy the Gladys Porter Zoo, which has been called the best zoo in Texas.
But its main appeal are the amazing day trips. Our favourites are the beautiful South Padres Island and the incredible Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge. Outdoor activities here include relaxing on the beach, hiking, fishing, parasailing and dolphin boat tours.
Temperatures range from 50-70 F. What a lovely escape from our current cold and wet conditions, right?
Las Vegas, Nevada provides constant entertainment
There is never a bad time to visit Las Vegas, but one of the best times to visit is Winter, as the climate is bearable. During day light hours you’ll have perfect t-shirt, jumper and jeans weather with high-50s (10 C) and low 60s (15 C). While, the night-time is cooler, you’ll never experience snow and rain occurs rarely.
Other than a day trip to the breath-taking Grand Canyon you’ll spend most of your time indoors experiencing the many attractions in casinos, enjoying shows in clubs and theatres and shopping.
