5 US cities for the ultimate girls trip

Sometimes a long weekend away with your closest girlfriends is just what the doctor ordered; and it’s especially true right now given that most of us have spent much of the last year indoors craving frolics, fiestas, and friendship. Well today we’ve got something for all you ladies desperate to get away with your closest gal pals: 5 US cities for the ultimate girls trip.

Time to get your girlfriends on the line and get booking your next vacation you’ll never forget 🥰.

Las Vegas

Look, we’re starting off strong with Las Vegas, because… well, is there anything you can’t do in Sin City?

Comedy shows, family-friendly shows, helicopter rides, hot air balloon rides, Cirque du Soleil, quaint gardens to wander round, that’s not even half of the fun you can have in the Nevada desert. Whilst you may only know Las Vegas as a tacky, sticky city with the tagline ‘what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas’ 😳, that’s not all there is to it. Whilst it may well be the perfect city to party in, you don’t have to go all out, try a relaxing spa weekend in a swanky hotel, or trawl the boulevard’s for bright lights and entertainment, and win big in the casinos if you’re lucky enough. What’s not to love about a girls trip to Las Vegas?

Chicago

If you’re not necessarily looking for a weekend of partying, why not try a city like Chicago, which has a more cultural vibe to it? We already have a blog post giving you 10 free things to do in Chicagoso why not try that out for a few inspirational tips?

With Lake Michigan to look out onto and dip your toes into, the Skydeck to get an impeccible view of the city, and Millenium Park to picnic in, who could resist? There’s Chicago Theater to head to if you fancy catching a show, and plenty of museums to wander around with your pals. Plus, there are some great shopping malls to get your shopping fix: try Block 37, 900 North Michigan Shops, and The Shops at North Bridge on for size and get ready to shop till you drop.

“We checked ourselves in the mirror before we left. We were flushed and a little rumpled, but in a good way. We looked vibrant, wild, happy. The hair and the clothes and the makeup made me feel like someone new, but the happy is what made me unrecognizable.”
― Allie Larkin, Why Can’t I Be You

Indianapolis

For the food and drink lovers of the group, heading to Indianapolis is a good shout because it’s got a huge array of restaurants, coffee shops, donut shops, steakhouoses, breweries and distilleries, and boozy brunch locations to visit, and plenty of Midwerstern charm to boot.

Indy might not be as popular as other cities in the US, but we think it’s hiding a good time behind its coy smile. Why not take a relaxing gondola ride through downtown Indianapolis, reclining in your Italian treasure, whilst hearing all about the city from your gondolia? Or, head to Garfield Park Conservatory and gardens to capture the stunning botanical beauty on offer. There are even plenty of malls and markets to peruse at your lesiure on your weekend away in Indiana.

New Orleans

Hands up anyone who’s seen Girls Trip? Set in New Orleans, Girls Trip is a feel good tale of friendship, romance, and partying with your favorites by your side. And whilst that’s partly why New Orleans has made it to number 4 on this list, it’s not all it’s got to its name.

This city is vibrant and lively, and the perfect place to dance your worries away with the locals. In fact, if you want a raucous party, you need to head there in time for its world-famous Mardi-Gras festival, where you can even bring your own costumes. This is the city that claims they invented the cocktail too, so it’s definitely the spot to try your favorite alcoholic mix, and, once you’re done with all the drinking and dancing, it’ll be time to wander the old-school, brightly colored streets and take in that New Orleans flare in all its glory.

“It’s because our friendships – female friendships are just a hop to our sisterhood, and sisterhood can be a very powerful force, to give the world … the things that humans desperately need”
― Tanja Taaljard

Avalon, Catalina Island

Our final pick is Avalon, Catalina Island, one of SoCal’s favorite islands just an hour south ferry ride from Los Angeles (quick fun fact that could be very helpful by the way… the ferry is free on your birthday, so choose your dates well!).

This is the perfect weekend trip for any group of ladies who want to feel like they’ve headed to Europe, with this Mediterranean style island full of European influences wherever you look. With few cars being permitted to drive around the island, Catalina is quiet, restful, and charming, and with plenty of outdoor recreational activities to book onto (think kayaking, snorkeling, hiking, zip lining, and even dolphin excursions🐬🤯), you’ll leave Avalon feeling fresher than ever.

Ladies, do yourselves a favor and get your girl’s trip BOOKED. Don’t wait around. It’s time to nurture our friendships and get away with our favorite ladies to let loose and get back into the swing of things. Tell us below the city you’d pick for your girls trip, or whether you’ve visited any of them before.
